Motion 2.5 Trigger Updates: Conditional Logic, New Tabs in Engagements, etc.

Motion 2.5 Trigger Updates

Several new features have been added to Motion 2.5 Triggers to enhance the workflow-building experience.

New Features

  • Conditional Logic.

  • Trigger Auto-naming.

  • Open the Edit Task window from any Assigned Tasks grid or Completed Triggers grid (engagement level or global level).

  • Open the Edit Trigger window from any Completed Triggers grid (engagement level or global level).

  • Open an engagement from the Global Assigned Tasks grid or Global Completed Triggers grid.

CONDITIONAL LOGIC

Conditions

Conditional Logic triggers have been added to Motion 2.5 tasks. All triggers that have conditions in addition to Task Completion or Task Due (Note: Task Assignment is not taken into account as no values have been submitted in order to trigger a condition) will show an icon with the letter C in a circle for Conditions.

Rather than opening the trigger, you can simply click the C to read the current conditions that are on the task (see below).

Condition Rules

  • User selection is EXACTLY

    • The user selection must exactly match the condition value -  the order of the selection is not important

      • Ex: User selection: US, CA = Condition value: CA, US

  • User selection INCLUDES

    • The user chooses at least one of the condition values

      • Ex: User selection: US, CA = Condition value: CH, CA, RO

  • User selection INCLUDES AND IS LIMITED TO

    • The user only chooses values that are within the condition value

      • Ex: User selection: US, CA = Condition value: CH, US, CA, RO

  • User selection INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO

    • The user selection must include the entire condition value

      • Ex: User selection: US, CA, RO = Condition value: US, CA

AND Logic between triggers

  • The user selects two different field value matches
  • Trigger 1 selection: Married
    (AND)

  • Trigger 2 selection: Short-Term

TRIGGER AUTO-NAMING

Trigger names will auto-populate based on the parameters you set

  • You can still put a trigger description in the Edit Trigger window which will display on hover but will not impact the name that is displayed in Motion 2.5

  • If/when task names or trigger parameters are edited, they will be updated everywhere in the workflow and will always be available in the search bar

OPEN EDIT TASK/TRIGGER WINDOWS

Aside from within Motion 2, you can now open the Edit Task window from any Assigned Tasks grid or Completed Triggers grid. You can open the Edit Trigger window from within the Completed Triggers grid by right-clicking on an item.

Global: Workflow Edit Screen (Edit Task)

Global: Task Assignments Tab (Edit Task)

Global: Completed Triggers Tab (Edit Task and Trigger)

Individual: Within an Engagement (Edit Task and Trigger)

OPEN ENGAGEMENT

You can now open an engagement from the Global Assigned Tasks grid or Global Completed Triggers grid by right-clicking on any task or completed trigger and selecting Open Engagement.
