After you’ve created a new page in Site Planner, the next step will be adding content to your page.

Static content  is the content on a web page that is expected to stay the same.  This includes basic text, images, buttons, and videos. This is different from dynamic content, which is content that can be updated without manually adding or removing web pages.

Walkthrough:

  1. In the Content Explorer, look for the ‘Static’ folder. Right-click on the folder and click ‘Add Item’.

The user right-clicking the “Static” folder, then choosing “Add Item”.

  2. In the pop-up window, you can now use the fields depending on the type of content you want to publish. After filling up the contents, click ‘Save & Close’.

  3. Now, on the Content Explorer side, look for the content item that you wish to publish and drag and drop it to the page you have just created. This will now let you choose the ‘Position’, View’, and add a ‘View Class’ (CSS Styles) to the item (Be sure to wait for the green plus sign before dropping the item).

  4. In the new window that appears after dragging and dropping, you will often select either “body” or “hero” for the position and view.  To see a detailed explanation of these choices, check out our documentation on how to style your published content.

  5. You can right-click and preview your web page to see the static item within the page.
