Triggers

triggers in motion 2.5

A trigger is a piece of a Motion 2.5 workflow that causes a new event to occur. Triggers are attached to tasks in a given workflow, and depending on whether certain conditions are met, will cause action to occur in the sequence of the workflow.

Triggers can be set with varying conditions that need to be met in order to fire. They can be set to follow varying courses of action once fired. Once specific conditions are met, triggers can perform a variety of actions, like sending a notification to someone in the workflow, changing a record type, or continuing the workflow. Often, one task will have multiple triggers.

Depending on the action they perform when fired, a trigger will be depicted with different icons in Motion, but will always be red in color.
